Idag har jag det stora nöjet att presentera FPL-experten tillika Chelseasupportern Fpl Executive! Han har slutat top 5k i Fpl inte en, utan två gånger! För att sätta detta i perspektiv är det alltså två placeringar i 99.9-percentilen. Vem är då mer lämpad än honom att diskutera Chelsea tillsammans med inför den kommande säsongen?
Finishing in the top 5k twice is an incredible accomplishment! How do you prepare for the upcoming season?
– Preparing for a new season is often tricky as we have no information to base our team on. I pick my team based on the information that we do have at the moment and the information we had prior to the end of the season. This includes team lineups and formation. I tend to mostly avoid new signings as we have little information on their positioning, roles and minutes in a given team.

How did you get into FPL?
– How did you get into FPL? I got into FPL after High School through my friends playing against them. After a while I discovered I was quite decent at it.
Do you have any beginner advice for managers who haven’t played for too long?
– Play their own game and not to get caught out in the hype. Make your own call as external factors can hinder you playing the way you want and pick players you intended on. Be patient and play the long game as it is a 38 week game and slowly chip away with it.

Since you’re a Chelsea fan I got to ask you about Chelsea. Which Chelsea players do you think are worth considering at the start of the season?
– Reece James
– His output is one of the best among defenders in the league,probably only Trent Alexander and Cancelo can match or beat him. Playing Wingback his attacking output is very high as he has a high assist and goal potential factored in he plays for one of the best defensive sides in the league so cleansheets come easy.
– Mason Mount
– He was Tuchel’s most trusted attacker last season and did not disappoint. He managed last season double digit returns in goals and assists and if he continues to be a regular that can only get better. The addition of Sterling makes him even a better pick for a cheaper price.
– Ben Chilwell
– He is probably a better Fpl asset than Reece James but got hampered with injuries last season . He should definitely be in your thoughts as he is more of a goal scorer than a creator as opposed to James. Chelsea normally create chances down the right but finish them over on the left hand side . Caveat to him is that his minutes might be managed as he is just from an injury but still a fantastic option nonetheless.
Any Chelsea player(s) to stay away from?
Callum Hudson Odoi
– The Chelsea attack is probably a no go zone not unless you are picking Mason Mount. There are upto 6 players to pick to play in 3 spots and a few will definitely be short of minutes. The signing of Sterling does not help his case as he wasn’t already a regular on the team.
Thiago Silva
– He is a great defender but not much of an FPL option because of his price point. Having him would guarantee the cleansheet points but he doesn’t have much attacking returns compared to the other Chelsea Wingbacks who at 0.5m more offer much more value
Timo Werner
– As with the case with Chelsea attackers the amount of minutes on the table is quite low and with his price you can get alot more.I should say this applies also to Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic as the signing of Sterling would only limit their minutes. Werner underperformed his Xg last season and only scored 4 goals all season in the league. Not impressive at all and I would not consider him at the moment
Chelsea have done some great signings this summer, such as Sterling, Koulibaly and possibly Kounde. Do you reckon Chelsea will be title contenders this season?
– Chelsea will be contenders for the title. Winning it is probably a different thing altogether. Koulibaly and Kounde will definitely fill the gaps left behind in defence and probably improve it. Sterling is a proven goal scorer in the league and Chelsea need goals. Succeeding as a goal scorer at Chelsea is a tough proposition for anyone coming to this team historically. If he hits the ground running then definitely we are in the race.
Whenever I talk FPL with someone, people quickly name drop a few “must have’s”. Do you reckon there are any “must have’s” at the start of this season?
Trent Alexander Arnold
– This may sound cliche but he is probably one of the best assets in the game. His goal, assist and cleansheet potential is very high regardless of the opposition. He is on setpiece duty and is the main creative asset in the second best team in the league.
Salah
– He probably needs no introduction as he is capable of scoring against any team . He has been the highest scoring FPL ever since he debuted in the league and that doesn’t seem to change anytime soon.
Cancelo
– He plays for the best defensive team in the league and is just as attacking as Trent is . He did have the most shots on goal for a defender in the league and his positioning of occupying central areas of the pitch during play makes him very likely to pick up attacking returns in a team that has a reputation of scoring goals.
And on the other hand: Is there any player you think has too high ownership?
Erling Haaland.
– He is probably a generational talent but for Gw1 I don’t think his ownership is justified. He has barely played in preseason and factor in he plays in a Man City team that is famous for rotating it’s players . Given his lack of minutes in the league and his opening game being Westham that does concern me.

It’s safe to say that a lot of people will start the season going big on defence. What’s your thoughts on this approach?
– It is totally justifiable and is very dependent dependent on your personal playing style. The high priced defenders can equally match the midfielders at that price and they do have a high ceiling as they have transformed into creative assets.
– Another advantage is that the high priced defenders are rarely rotated amongst each other.
– I would readily pick defensive options between 5.0 -6.0 m defenders over midfielders in that bracket due to the pricing of the game and availability of options such as Perisic, Zinchenko, Walker and Tripper as they poses cleansheet potential and attacking returns.
– Overall I can say big at the back is truly on this year
What does it take to become a great FPL manager?
– 1. Do your research. I mostly rely on watching alot of games to build my knowledge base but using statistics is also advisable as other good managers have used this to achieve success. This enables you to have a concrete idea of what is going on.
– 2. Patience. This involves transfers as some may not work immediately but maybe the best option over a longer period of time. Also don’t be in a hurry to transfer in a player you are unsure of .
– 3. Trust your decision In your decision making process you should try to limit external influences as it is your team you are building. You may consume content from articles,podcasts and videos but the ultimate decision lies with you.
Any beginner mistakes you see a lot of people do?
– Following the crowd. Most people follow recent hype and bias associated with the game and tend to overlook obvious picks infront of their eyes.
Greatest FPL memory?
– Triple Captaining Aguero to a 4 goal haul against Leicester. I remember there were doubts about his fitness having just returned from injury but decided to throw the dice as City were chasing the title paid out.
What team do you think will win the PL this season and which teams are getting relegated?
– Title: Manchester City.
– Relegation: Fulham, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth
